Family Time Means it’s Time for Music

There was plenty of apple wine consumed by everyone (including myself) during my holiday break I spent at home with my family in western New York. One night after a bottle or two my father, brother and I decided to get out the instruments and have a little jam session like we used to do when we had our little family band when I was in high school. We picked up right where we left off and played this great version of “In the Pines” right off the bat and luckily my Mom was there to record it all.

This song has always been a family favorite. It’s perfect for harmonies, it’s only three chords and doesn’t have a lot of lyrics making it easy to remember. We were all pretty impressed with ourselves especially when we all harmonized the last verse a cappella. Check it out in the video above if you haven’t already seen it on Facebook (it did get quite a few views when we posted it that night).
I also have it available as a free mp3 download as well at Soundcloud and Bandcamp. Or just press the downward pointing arrow icon on the music player below to download.

Thanks for listening and I hope you had a great holiday!
