Custom Podcast Intro Music for Content Creators

I love making podcast intro music. It's a great way to get more music out and collaborate with a content creator.

I've written and recorded lots of intro music for podcasts and I would love to do the same for you or someone you know! Here are some of the things I think about when writing and recording intro music.

How Long Should Podcast Intro Music Be?

I usually try to make intro music for podcasts around 15 to 30 seconds long. Any longer and I feel like the listener gets a little bored. You have to remember the listener is there for the podcast NOT for the music. The intro song should be treated as a garnish and provide a professional level of context for the episode.

What Does the Best Podcast Intro Music Sound Like?

Intro music should portray the energy and personality of the podcast theme and its host. Music for a meditation podcast will not have the same energy as a music for a sports podcast.

A higher energy sports podcast will need a higher energy intro song with drums and higher energy vocals. The dynamics of the music sets up the themes and topics that will be discussed in the episode.

The best podcast intro music will be different for everyone. This is why going custom is the best option than relying on generic royalty free music options. (If you are interested in royalty free music for your podcast you can find some here.)

What You Will Get From Me

Like any musician, I have a style and you can commission a podcast music intro from me based off of my unique writing and recording techniques. Here's what you get when you work with me on your podcast intro.

  • Acoustic instrument centric (I will rarely use midi instruments)
  • Programed drums (if necessary)
  • Custom written male vocals
  • Two to five instruments/layers
  • Mixed and mastered finished track
  • You have full and complete rights over your commissioned podcast intro
