It’s been awhile since I’ve done a video but I’m back at it with this central Washington Regional Weekend in Othello and Moses Lake. The high desert scenery and wonderful people made this trip a nice break from the Puget Sound area.

I begin the weekend in Othello, a little town of about 8,000 people, 50 miles due north of the Tri-Cities. Othello has some great character and some neat little places to explore. One such place is Ironworks Cafe and Market. The building used to be a metal fabrication business many years ago and after the building sat vacant for many years it was purchased by Erika Rattray and turned into the Ironworks Cafe.

Much of the character of the old business and building has been kept which gives Ironworks a little bit of a museum feel accentuated by the modern coffee drinks, food and fresh produce available. Basically, it’s a really fun spot to spend a few hours and an even greater place to play a show.

Since the next show in this Regional Weekend was only 26 miles away in Moses Lake, I stopped at a conservation area for a quick hike and lakeside lunch of leftovers from Ironworks. When I got to Moses Lake, I spoke with Tom at St. Brigid’s Brewery about his approach to brewing beer and his location right on the lake itself.

Check out the beer and music pairing of St. Brigid’s 40 Acre IPA and Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds

It’s always nice to talk with brewers, small business owners and the like. These people are following their passions and I can identify with that immensely.

Watch the entire video or take a trip and experiences for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
